If you are looking for location substitution - (RBATP) we define a rule based on Loc. Determination Procedures where we specify list of plants or substitutes. If stock is not available in Plant 1000 then system will search for Plant 2000. i.e., In LDP we specify list of plants 1) 1000 and 2) 2000. So, system will check for alternate location/plant.

For MATP you need BOMs, when BOM explode RBATP check can happen at item level.
