UOM0MATE is a feature developed by SAP in BI 7.0. If you check your 0MATERIAL InfoObject, you will find the name of this DSO (UOM0MATE) for unit conversion. So, basically it is not your query which is tied with UOM0MATE, but it is your 0MATERIAL.
Now basically, in BI 7.0, this DSO is specially designed to perform the unit conversion where ever you use 0MATERIAL. But if the conversion is not maintained in this DSO then the unit conversion fails and displays you the result in the original unit. Which is happening in your case for some materials.
This DSO is loaded from ECC with the datasource 0MAT_UNIT_ATTR. If you want to maintain any conversion entry, first you will have to define that into ECC and that will be pulled to BW automatically
so looks like to me convesion is not mainatined for this material. see this material is available in master data and DSO as well with reuiqred convesion parameters..
