We have a material determination process where system is designed to add substituted products to add as a new line, original line will be changed to TAP item categoty and a new subline will be added with TAN item category.
For example, if material A is ordered for 100 ea and there is a material determination setup for A to B, while creating the sales order for A, system will change the original line to TAP and add a new line for mateiral B with TAN item category. Line 10 is greyed out and is not relevent for any suesquent processing.
Issue with the scenario is if there is not enough quantity of substitute material then the original order is never fulfilled.
For example customer ordered 100 EA of material A which has a material determination point to material B, at the time of placing the order there is only 20 EA of material B so system will grey out original line for material A and add a new line for material B only for 20 EA. problem with this order was originally placed for 100 ea and fulfilled only for 20 ea but system does not confirm remaining quantity of 80 ea in original line once material B is available.
Could you please let me know if you encountered similar situation and what was the solution proposed.
